Landscape Design
Thoughtful, Site-Specific Landscapes Designed as Living Ecosystems
We provide specialized landscape design services throughout California, creating ecologically functional landscapes that are beautiful, resilient, and regenerative.
Our designs are rooted in permaculture principles and focus on building restorative outdoor spaces with minimal reliance on synthetic materials. Rather than applying pre-packaged design concepts, we carefully evaluate each site's unique conditions, including:
-
Climate and microclimate
-
Sun and shade patterns
-
Soil conditions
-
Water flow and drainage
-
Existing vegetation
-
Functional needs and goals
-
Wildlife habitat opportunities
Whenever appropriate, our designs integrate:
-
Rainwater harvesting systems
-
California native plants
-
Drought-tolerant species
-
Edible and productive landscapes
-
Pollinator and wildlife habitat
-
Soil-building strategies
-
Natural ecosystem restoration
Many landscape designers advertise environmentally friendly or native plant-focused services, but a truly functional landscape requires more than attractive plant selections. Simply replacing conventional plants with natives, or adding mulch and a few drought-tolerant species, rarely creates a self-sustaining ecosystem.
Our goal is to design landscapes that work with nature, support ecological function, and continue improving over time.
