PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Unbox

Immediately and carefully remove plant from all packaging and inspect for health.

2. Acclimate

Move plant to shade. We recommend leaving plant in full to partial shade for 5-7 days before planting in its permanent location. It is especially important to follow this late spring, summer and early fall.

3. Water

Water your plant immediately after receiving. Keep potted plant damp but not overwatered. As a general rule of thumb gently water until water is draining out of the bottom of the container for a few seconds at least. Typically, once per day is enough but well rooted plants and hot days will require more. In winter, every few days may be enough. Use your finger to check the soil moisture. If soil is dry or only very slightly damp, water.

4. Plant

Plant as soon as your plant is acclimated, directly in your native soil without amending or backfilling with non-native soil. This applies to all plants we sell. When preparing to plant, your hole should be twice as wide as the container and as deep as the soil level in the pot. Water thoroughly.

5. Remove Tags

Remove all tags ties etc. if they exist at time of planting so that they do not restrict the growth of the plant.

6. Mulch

Top dress with organic compost/mulch being mindful to keep top dressing off base of plant. This helps to retain moisture in the soil and reduce watering needs.
