Brown Dogwood

Brown Dogwood is a striking native shrub/small tree prized for its distinctive reddish-brown stems that provide year-round winter interest. This deciduous woody plant reaches 5–20 feet tall and produces small white flowers in spring, followed by blue-white berries that attract birds and wildlife. The foliage turns deep burgundy in fall before dropping, revealing the ornamental bark that gives this species its common name. Hardy and low-maintenance once established, Brown Dogwood works beautifully in native plant gardens, rain gardens, and mixed borders. Excellent for erosion control and supporting pollinators and songbirds.
